PRESENT FUTURE

Present Future
So as we march toward the end of 2011 and look at 2012
what do you forecast we’ll be experiencing whether from a macro perspective or your field of interest or expertise?

Here’s a couple thoughts I’ve been reflecting upon:

Potential Challenges
1. Great economic Volatility and Instability
2. Natural Disasters of large scale impact.
3. Class Warfare: increased polarization of classes within the western world; Social-economic division between the haves and the have nots.
4. Radicalism and Anarchy: more social protests and riots esp. in the West
5. Marshall Law enforced in major cities of the world even the US (heard this prediction earlier from a leader. The more i thought about this one, the more I tend to believe it will happen. The current cultural milieu esp. in America and Europe is setting this up esp. since disillusioned youth are struggling with economic hardships and governments lack united resolve/deadlock to adequately address the problems or innovate creative solutions)
6. Non-profits including churches will continue to decline in effectiveness or move towards a more hybrid model of less programs and more customized approaches of development with their constituency.

HOPE-FILLED Movements
1. Communal living (many may be forced to do this because of the state of the economy; But it will be something that will create health relationally; hence, challenging to the American dream of independence and personal space)
2. Organic food and healthy living rapidly growing.
3. Craving for something MORE than material.
4. An uprising of young and old living in the Supernatural
5. A Spiritual awakening where many will turn to Jesus or more eastern oriented religions.
6. North Korea Re-uniting with South Korea
7. East and South continue to rise in economic, political, social, arts, and spiritual sectors.
8. All types of churches including mega, small, organic, mid-size will shift towards human development as the main priority if they are going to survive. This development has to deal with raw intimacy with God, the supernatural unleashing of spiritual gifts, and loving, bold activism.
